1. During academic activities, students must obey the organization, management and direction of teachers and professors, participate in academic activities, complete academic tasks, and achieve academic goals.

2. Students must abide by the school’s daily schedule. Students must not be late for class, leave class early, or skip classes. Those who are late should enter the classroom with the teacher's permission.

3. Students who are unable to attend classes for any reason must request for leave in advance. The necessary procedures are carried out in accordance with relevant school management regulations. Please refer to Chinese Undergraduate Student Handbook and Handbook for International Students of BLCU. The approved, application for leave should be handed over to relevant teachers in advance.

4. Students are prohibited from exhibiting the following behaviors during class: reading books or other materials that are not related to the course; whispering, playing, sleeping, indecent or uncivilized behavior; eating; walking around in the classroom without the teacher’s permission.

5. Except in situations where electronic devices are allowed by teachers, students are not allowed to use electronic devices such as mobile phones in class. Electronic devices such as mobile phones must be turned off.

6. Students shall not ask others to attend lectures for them.

7. During academic activities, students must be dressed properly, no vests slippers nor other apparel is suitable for classroom.

8. During tests and course assessments, students must strictly abide by academic ethics, displaying honesty and integrity, do not plagiarize others’ academic achievements, do not violate rules, and do not cheat.

9. Students should respect teachers. If they have thoughts or suggestions regarding teaching, they can communicate directly with the instructors or with their colleges and departments. They should not insult or abuse teachers.

10. Students should help teachers to clean blackboard and platform, distribute and collect homework, etc., and assist and coordinate with the teacher to complete academic activities. Student cadres should help teachers to check the attendance.

11. The above items shall be implemented from the date of promulgation. The original Beijing Language and Culture University Student Classroom Code (School Document [2012] No. 3, revised in 2017) shall no longer be valid.

12. This Code is to be interpreted by Office of Academic Affairs.
