The school library has a total construction area of nearly 12,000 square meters, which is divided into two parts: the main library and the branch library. The main library located on the northwest of the crossroad in the center of campus and the branch library is located on the basement one and basement two of the No.1 teaching building. The library has more than 1200 reading seats, 20 seminar rooms, and 1 RiXin Lecture Hall (multifunctional lecture hall). It is open to all teachers and students.

There are more than 900,000 books in the school library, including over 40,000 thread-bound books, 2722 Chinese periodicals, 484 foreign periodicals, more than 70 major domestic newspapers, and over 20 newspapers in Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Taiwan Province and abroad.

Borrowing Rules

1.Application and registration of borrowing card (campus card)

New international students can apply to register a free “Campus card” (borrowing card) with their campus card and valid student ID card. The registered Campus Card” can be used as borrowing card.

2. Use of the borrowing card

    Beijing Language and Culture University Library Borrowing Card (i.e., "Campus Card") is a voucher for international students to enter the library, borrow documents and carry out learning activities in the library. International students should use them at the swiping gate to enter or leave the library, and consciously cooperate with the staff for inspection.

4.Report the loss and reissue of the borrowing card

If the borrowing card (i.e. "Campus Card") is lost, it shall be reported immediately and reissued. The reissued "Campus Card" does not need to be re-registered. All borrowed books before reporting the loss shall be borne by the holder of the "Campus Card".

International students should go to the One-stop Service Center on the first floor of the "Comprehensive Building" to apply for reissue of the campus card. (telephone number: 82300062-803).

5.Verify and leave school

Admission verification: In order to strengthen library management, the "Campus Card" will be checked at the entrance of the library. International students can only use their own "Campus Card" when they enter the library. International students are not allowed to lend their "Campus Card" to others when they enter the library. Those who violate relevant regulations will be dealt with according to the relevant regulations of the library.

School-leaving procedures: When international students leave school (including graduation, suspension, withdrawal from school, completion of studies, etc.), they must return all borrowed books and settle their arrears, and go to the Informalization office for the suspension or cancellation of the borrowing card (i.e., "Campus Card").

 

Instructions for Use of Seat Management System

1. The rules for the use of seats

(1)Opening hours of seats: Monday to Sunday, 7:00-22:00, with separate notice during winter and summer holidays.

(2) The seats in the library are only for readers of our school.

(3)To use the seats, you must select seats through the seat management system, and seat by numbers.

(4)Students can reserve seats on any floor on the same day and the next day through the seat selection system.

(5)After booking a seat, it is allowed to sign in at most 20 minutes late. If the booking time is exceeded, the reserved seat will be automatically released and the violation will be recorded once.

(6)If you need to cancel the reservation after the seat reservation is successful, you must enter the system through the network 10 minutes in advance and cancel it.

2. Appointment of seats

Students must choose seats in the library seat management system before they can sit and study. There are four ways to choose seats:

(1) BLCU Wechat work account

After successfully binding the campus card with the account number and password of the library management system through BLCU Wechat work account, you can click "Library Service-Reservation Service-Seat Reservation" to enter the page of seat reservation.

Note: The binding account number is the student ID number, and the password is the school unified authentication password (enter through the digital BLCU webpage, select "forgot password" to reset).

(2)PC web page

Enter the website address: libkjyy.blcu.edu.cn, or go to the library homepage, and click the icon of "Seat/Seminar Reservation" (the password is the school unified authentication password).

(3)Reservation machine

On-site seat selection by swiping card at the touch screen seat reservation machine (automatically sign in after successful seat reservation, no need to sign in again).

(4)After swiping the card into the library, use WeChat to scan the QR code of the desktop seat to select the seat (after the seat selection is successful, it will automatically sign in, no need to sign in again).

Note: You can scan the QR code of the seat and select the seat only if you have the entrance record of the library entrance.

3.Online reservation seat check-in

There are two ways to check in online reservation seats:

(1) Scan the QR code of the desktop seat to sign in.

(2)Swipe the card on the on-site reservation machine to sign in. 4.Setting for leaving the seat

(1)When temporarily leaving the seat, please set the seat to "Temporarily leave", otherwise, the seat will be automatically released immediately after leaving the library.

(2)Seats must be set as "Temporarily leave" in the following two ways. For example, if the departure time is during lunch time (11:00-13:00) and dinner time (16: 30-18: 30), the seats will be kept for one hour, and if one leaves the museum in other time, the seats will be kept for 30 minutes. After overtime, the seats will be automatically released. There are two ways of temporary leave:

A.Scan the QR code of the seat desktop and leave the seat temporarily.

B.Swipe your card at the on-site reservation machine before leaving seats temporarily.

(3) For those who leave temporarily, after returning within the specified time, please activate the seat in the following two ways, and the system will automatically restore the original seat:

A. Scan the QR code of desktop seat and return.

B. Swipe your card at the on-site reservation machine after returning.

(4)There are three ways to release your seat directly after leaving the library:

A.Scan the desktop QR code and release the seat.

B."Log in through the webpage" and end its use in advance.

C.End the use by swiping the card on the reservation machine.

D.Automatically release the seat when going out of the library (under the condition of not leaving temporarily).

5. Violation of regulations

(1)If you do not sign in on time or cancel the reservation after booking a seat, you will be recorded as violating the rules once, with 100 points deducted, and the selected seat will be automatically released for other students to choose. Readers can check the violation records through the seat selection system.

(2)If you set as “temporarily leave” and fail to return on time, your seat will be automatically released after overtime, and you will be recorded the breach of regulations once, and deduct 100 points.

(3)The total score is 300 points, and there are 3 violations in total. The student cannot use the seat selection system within 7 days; After the freezing period, the violation record will be cleared and 300 points will be restored.

(4)Readers who occupy other people's seats illegally and do not give up their seats voluntarily will be treated as violating regulations for three times, and the seat selection system will not be used within 7 days.

(5)The system of cumulative deduction of seat points is also applied to the use of seminars.

 

Seminar Rooms Rsing Instructions

1. The use of the seminar rooms must be reserved in advance and signed in on time

 (1)Opening hours of seminar rooms: Monday to Sunday, 7:00-22:00, with further notice in winter, summer vacation and holidays.

(2)The library seminar rooms is only for readers of our school.

(3)After making an appointment, it is allowed to sign in at most 20 minutes late. If the time for signing in is exceeded, the appointment will be automatically released and one violation will be recorded at the same time.

(4)If you need to cancel the reservation after the reservation is successful, you must enter the system 10 minutes in advance and cancel it.

2.Appointment method

(1)BLCU Wechat work account

4. Cancellation of appointment/early termination

(1)PC terminal: International students log in to the reservation system. Under the "Personal Center"-"Personal Reservation", they can log in to the reservation platform no later than 10 minutes before the agreed starting time, and cancel the reservation.

(2)Mobile terminal: International students enter the "Library Service-Appointment Service-Seminar Appointment" system through WeChat work account, select the "Appointment Reminder" menu bar-"More", and log onto the appointment platform no later than 10 minutes ago before the agreed start time , and cancel the appointment; After signing in, you can also end the use in advance and release the right to use the seminar room.

5.Penalty for breach of contract

(1)Default if you don't make an appointment: If you don't sign in within the specified time after the appointment is successful (the sign-in time is allowed to be 20 points late at most), you will record a default once and deduct 100 points.

(2)The number of people who sign in is not up to standard: the minimum number of people in large seminar rooms is 3, and the minimum number of people in small seminar rooms is 2. Sign in within the specified time; otherwise, the main booking person will be judged to have breached the contract once, and 100 points will be deducted.

(3)The accumulated points are deducted by 300 points. The seminar room cannot be reserved for use within 7 days after freezing, the points will be restored after 7 days.

(4)The use of seminars will also be calculated into cumulative deduction of seat points.

6. Matters needing attention

(1)If there are other readers occupying the seminar room before the appointment time starts, you can sign in only after the previous period of use is completed; The actual use time of the seminar room shall be subject to the reserved time period, and shall not be postponed by the check-in time.

(2)The seminar room is for academic research, and it is strictly forbidden to engage in non-study and non-academic research activities; It is forbidden to meet illegally in the seminar room and engage in illegal and criminal activities.

(3)The library staff will criticize and educate those who violate regulations, cause disputes and harm the interests of others; If the circumstances are serious, it shall be reported to the relevant departments or school for processing.

Interlibrary Borrow & Transmission of Original Text

The Beijing Academic Library & Information System (BALIS) is one of the public service systems of higher education institutions in Beijing. It can not only obtain the literature resources of the member libraries in the system (including the university libraries in Beijing, the National Library and the Shanghai Library) free of charge, but also obtain the literature resources of other domestic literature institutions such as CALIS, CASHL and NSTL through the subject service libraries of the original text delivery system.

1. Registration

2. Use





After confirmation, the user can log in to the "original text delivery reader system" with the user name and password, to search and send the original text delivery request by using the directory, or directly fill in the original text delivery application form to obtain the literature resources they need.


BALIS original text delivery system can provide all kinds of documents that can be delivered, such as books, journal papers, dissertations and conference papers. Copyright agreement: books should not exceed 1/3 of the whole book, and the same journal should not exceed 4 articles.

Note: You can apply for renewal within the borrowing period. If the overdue fine is more than 10 yuan, you can't renew it. Books that have been "reserved" by other readers can't be renewed.

Electronic and network resources

The library has built and ordered a number of electronic resources according to the teaching and scientific research characteristics of the school. The self-built electronic resources mainly include the Postgraduates Thesis Library, the International Student's Degree Thesis Library and the Chinese International Education Special Literature Library. The ordered electronic resources mainly include CNKI full-text database, Duxiu academic search, EBSCO, JSTOR, SAGE and other Chinese and foreign language databases.
